Day 29: Coffee with a Native and Shopping!
So today was really kind of uneventful. Brittany and I made ham, cheese and egg sandwiches for breakfast and then got ready for an eventful day of shopping! You all should be proud of me....I didn't buy anything! I did however fall in love with a pair of boots I might have to get on day 30 we will see! I found a really cute skirt for five euro that I made Jess buy because it screamed her. I also learned that Dutch people do not ask how you are doing. We went into a smaller boutique store and he said good afternoon to us and I asked him how he was doing which he replied well and that dutch people don't usually ask that question. Whoops! Before shopping I got to meet Brittany's adopted Dutch mom Sylvie who has now adopted me, Jess and Jazmyn! We had coffee and got to know each other. She is the sweetest lady in the world. After we shopped until 3ish we came back and I started my laundry, which I really hate. I miss my grandmother's environmentally friendly washing machine and drier that actually works! I only did two small loads as that is really all you can do in a night and my room feels like a rainforest, at least what I think a rainforest would feel like. My windows were crying! During the laundry experience I ate dinner with the group and we had "Shit on a shingle" otherwise known as chipped beef on toast. Then after dinner we were going to go out, but I was way to tired and grumpy to do so, and none of my clothes were dry.
