122 Days in Europe: Galway : Finally getting some relaxing time!

Day 55: I am the Queen of Hearts!

After the last week of constantly going going going we took today and just relaxed. We slept in!!!!! Brittany went and saw a doctor because she was sick. While Freddy, Jaz, and I stocked up on vitamin C, Panadol head and cold, and throat lozenges for our beginning coughs. We met up with Brittany again after her visit and did some shopping. I got a new pair of sunglasses that are mint green, currently the color I am in love with, and Jaz found a backpack for all her patches. After here we finally were hungry for lunch so decided to go to the High Cafe. Of course they didn't open until noon so we shopped around some more. I really wanted to buy an Aran Sweater, but decided 60 euro for one was a little out of my price range. We looked at claddagh rings for Jaz as she wanted one for her birthday from Freddy. Eventually it was noon and we headed up the stairs and had a great lunch. I was introduced to couscous and had a really great chicken sandwich with spinach and what not on it. From here we went back to our Hostel, that we love, and played Hearts. For some reason I am really good at it! After we were done with hearts we headed out on a hunt for dinner and traditional irish music through the rain. Ya not very fun because we ended up walking to the other side of Galway and wandered into a pub that had traditional irish music, but no food. So we decided to head to the Merry Fiddler as we knew they had food, except when we got there they were done serving food. Oh well we sat down for a pint and decided that would be our dinner. This time we had a bulmer with some kind of fruit juice mixed in to make it taste like berry bulmers. The bartender working was really nice and could tell that we were starving so he suggested we get pizza from Dominos and eat it at the bar. Lucky for us it was buy one get one free! Super exciting! We had a Canadian Bacon and mushroom and a Canadian Bacon and black olives. YUM! I will no longer be craving pizza for a while.
